EVALUATION 6

What have you learnt about technologies from the process of this product?

I have learnt so much about technologies through the process of creating our product.
As my role as editor a lot of the technology was the software on the apple macs. For example, using IMovie when creating the anamatic for our production, which was really good to use for very simple editing.

I was already somewhat familiar with IMovie, but this year I learnt a lot more from editing in the software Premiere pro CS4. This software was difficult to use at first but the more I used it the easier it became. And so I used premiere pro to edit all of our opening sequence. I learned how to add simple and somewhat complex titles, eg for our ident.

I also learnt how to add in diegetic and non-diegetic sound into the video for example the plugging in of the amps and the song at the end when the titles appeared.

I also used this sight, Blogger, to upload my work. It acted as a digital diary to show my progression of research and planning. I used presentational device on here such as slide share and prezzi for fun and different ways of sharing my work. I also used the sight Pinterest to create  mood board, at the beginning of research to help come up with ideas for our production. It was also more helpful than a paper mood board as I could keep adding to it.

And finally I used YouTube and site Art of the title to research opening sequences of British independent films so we could gain ideas for post production, when editing, so we could get the right feel of the genre. I also used YouTube to upload our final product.

We would also use social media to get a variety of different opinions on our opening sequence, via sites such as Facebook. We would gain feedback to change the things that they would feel need changing to further improve our work, to make it appeal to our audience as much as possible.
